Pennsylvania student bites off teacher’s thumb at school

a school lecturer from Pennsylvania is reportedly on the mend following a student’s bite on her thumb.

A representative from the school told WGAL that the event happened on Thursday morning at the Central Education System in Manheim, which is a part of the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13.

Just over eighty-five miles west of Philadelphia is the little town of Manheim.

“The personnel acted swiftly in response to the issue. Intermediate Unit 13 spokeswoman Shannan Guthrie said that, following policy, local first responders were summoned to help staff with the problem.

Neither the student nor the teacher’s identities have been released by the school.

The student’s age prevents us from disclosing any other information, Guthrie stated.

“The main focus at this time is supporting staff and students while we continue to ensure safety for everyone,” she said later, adding that the school had “dedicated staff who work hard every day to serve students.”

Last but not least, Guthrie expressed her gratitude to the personnel and first responders who moved quickly in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Another remark that was published in celebration of the instructors at the school was by Matthew Stem, who is the executive director of Intermediate Unit 13.

Working with children who have critical needs, our paraprofessionals and teachers are unsung heroes. “They should be celebrated for everything they do because they are selfless and desire to change young lives,” Stem added.

Given the student’s age, the Manheim Borough police declined to provide further specifics beyond confirming that a teacher had a “serious injury” last week when a student allegedly bit off her thumb.
