Who is Assem Allam?

Born on August 1 1939, Assem Allam is an Egyptian British businessman who owns Allam Marine. He was also the former owner of Hull City from 2010, which achieved two premier league promotions and won the league one title under his ownership. 

In 2006 he was named the Entrepreneur of the year by Ernst and Young. He was also listed in the Sunday times Rich list 2010. 

In 2016 he donated £7 million to the medical building of the University of Hull and £8 million to Hull university teaching hospital NHS trust in 2019. On December 2, the former owner passed away in England. He was 83 years old at the time of his demise.
