A man was shot dead at Baylor and white medical center in Irving

Police officers in Irving shot a man dead at Baylor and white medical center, located in the 1900 block of North McArthur Boulevard. 

It happened around 8 pm when a nurse went inside the emergency wing of the medical center to check in on the patient and found him holding a handgun, prompting her to call the police. Police tweeted about the shooting just before 9 pm.

The Man opened fire at the Officers-

In the statement released by spokesman Robert Reeves at a news conference outside the medical center, it is said that in confrontation, the Man opened fire one round at a hospital police officer and an Irving police officer who were already there at the center due to an unrelated reason, in response they fired back. 

He died on the scene after sustaining injuries. He is 34 years old, although his name is not revealed. It is also unclear why he was admitted to the medical center.

No one else was hurt:

In their statement, police also confirmed that no one else was hurt, and there is no continued threat to the community. 

According to Baylor Scott and White, all the patient care is continuing normally, and they appreciate the swift response of Irving Police.
