Anthea Turner is an English former television presenter who had an accident in one of her eyes to which she initially didn’t pay much attention. Still, later on, it got worse and almost made retina detachment on the injured eye.
Anthea started her career on BBC radio and later moved on to TV shows; she is best known for being the host of Blue Peter from 1992 to 1994; she also hosted GMTV from 1994 to 1996.
Her pyro accident details-
Anthea opened up about the accident, which almost cost her her eyesight. The accident happened while she was filming in an outdated lodge.
So, while filming, she tried to open a window and let go of the twine of a window blind too rapidly, which made it fly out of her hand and hit her eye.
Initially, She didn’t pay much attention to it and kept on filming, but later on, the pain was quite persistent, and upon examination, it was found that the twine of the window had badly damaged her retina.
She started to see purple flash lightning, and that’s when she went to see a doctor and got to know about the retinal detachment; she was immediately rushed to surgical procedures and was saved from going blind.

Thankfully Anthea is completely fine now and has been enjoying her life and visiting numerous events, reveals, and places with her friends and family.
She currently goes to the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.
Recently she has also shared a very adorable picture of herself on her Instagram wearing sunglasses and enjoying ice cream in a pretty floral dress.
