Vin Scully: The veteran presenter and voice of LA doggers for decades is no more
For even after almost a quarter of a century, no Dodgers season started any other manner for viewers at home or in the main stand: “It’s Time For Dodger Baseball!”
So, when Dodgers were mostly based in Brooklyn, Vin Scully started narrating matches on the airwaves and eventually on tv news. He devoted a decent amount of time with just the team compared to any other sports broadcaster before retiring at the end of the season finale of 2016.
The Dodgers confirmed Vin Scully’s passing in a post. He was 94. Scully was renowned for more than simplicity and his endurance.
How did his fellow mates remember Scully?
Larry King, a seasoned commentator, recounted Vin Scully during their tenure with Brooklyn and Los Angeles. “There is a zone of comfort. You feel at ease, “King recalled a game when the Dodgers were out of contention one year. He described Scully’s tone as fascinating. “A pointless game. I’m driving from Los Angeles to San Diego. When I start the game, I can’t turn it off.”
Scully was an equally important member of the squad as the other teammates. Scully’s voice boomed on radios carried to Dodger Stadium by fans. “You don’t need to watch a baseball game to listen to Vin Scully call it because he produces a richer image than television could ever depict. I love him.”

Vin Scully was prepared with sports statistics. He, however, did not count on anything. “Statistics are employed much like a drunk uses a lamp post: for support, not the illumination,” he famously stated. This was due to the tales that he shared.
As a result, viewers gained new knowledge between those innings. He captured the thrill of a huge occasion on the pitch. He also experienced a lot of major milestones in his profession.
