Samantha Josephson’s night out with pals in Columbia, South Carolina, ended abruptly in March 2019 when she found herself in a car, which she assumed was just the Uber service she had originally scheduled.
The youthful lady was discovered slain after a few hours, several kilometers away from where she was located last. How Rowland planned his heinous felony-
Samantha got into Rowland’s van on March 29, 2019, assuming it was her Uber. Rowland took advantage of Samantha’s confusion. He kidnapped her by trapping her in his car.
According to the State Law Enforcement Bureau, he also had one prior criminal conviction in South Carolina for acquiring a contract or assets under pretenses.
On July 27, 2021, Nathaniel Rowland was convicted of abducting and brutally murdering Samantha Josephson.
The murder was discovered when the BOLO was released, and Rowland was stopped one evening. Rowland exited the truck and attempted to run away from the location but was apprehended and detained a few km far.
The officer’s dashboard and body surveillance video revealed him looking for Rowland’s car and locating Samantha Josephson’s cell phone. When Rowland opened his trunk, he noticed blood, prompting him to call for assistance before continuing his inquiry.
Nathaniel Rowland’s current whereabouts-
The execution witness testified at Nathaniel’s trial in 2021 that DNA under Nathaniel’s nails grouped Samantha. Nevertheless, the defense maintained that there was no assurance about his DNA on the weapon.
Nathaniel was tried and convicted in July 2021 of kidnapping and killing Samantha and possessing a firearm throughout a ferocious crime. He was condemned to life in jail not long after that. In the trial, Nathaniel stated, “For whoever asked me for leniency, that’s not part of my DNA.
But I guess what I know and what I think really doesn’t matter. I just wish the state would have done more finding out who the actual person was instead of detaining me and proving my guilt.” Rowland appears to be living his life in jail at a South Carolina detention prison.
