Renowned newscaster Pradeep Bhide of Mumbai Doordarshan dies aged 68.
On Tuesday, June 7th, we heard the tragic passing of one of the best generational newscasters our country had ever produced. As per reports, he suffered from brain cancer and succumbed to his illness on Tuesday. He was a genius at hosting news shows. At the same time, he was a professional bulletin and news reader. The news anchor had been working at Doordarshan for a long span of 35 years. He was truly worthy of being called the greatest Marathi television news anchor.
His burial service was at Andheri, where his colleagues showed up to pay their respects. The remaining part of his family includes his wife, Sujata, son, and daughter.

Doordarshan Mumbai’s newscasting has taken good shape since he started working there. He is responsible for their well-reputed history of news anchoring right from the time of his joining in the year 1974, which is just 2 years after their establishment.
His nostalgic introduction in the news shows is so sentimental that it has stuck in the minds of regular viewers. He portrayed a genuine and impartial side of his news reading to the viewers throughout his career. You could easily notice his emotions through the way he conveyed news bulletins. His voice would break while conveying bad news, and he would give a dim smile while spreading the good news.
