As per the UP police Officials, the director has been charged with criminal conspiracy, offense in a house of worship, intentionally injuring religious sensibilities, and intending to cause a breach of peace.
Two charges were filed against the maker, as said by Delhi Police. The IFSO, a specialized division of the Delhi Police that handles complex and sensitive cybercrime investigations, has lodged an FIR citing sections 153A and 295A of the Indian Penal Code.
Concerning the second allegation, the police stated that an investigation is now ongoing and that applicable legal rules would do any required action.

Leena Manimekalai is under fire after she released a poster for her project ‘Kaali’ that depicts the goddess inhaling cigarettes and carrying an LGBTQ sign.
The Uttar Pradesh Authorities and the Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) department reportedly registered FIRs over director Leena Manimekalai for allegedly infringing on religious emotions with her representation of Goddess Kali in her documentary ‘Kaali.’ In response, actress Nusrat Jahan stated, ‘not to draw religion again and make it sellable.’

The poster sparked the social media public to go frenzy with the tag ‘Arrest Leena Manimekalai,’ with charges that the director is offending religious sensibilities. Conversely, Manimekalai, a Madurai-born Toronto-based director, has stated that she would persist in using her opinion courageously as long as she lives.”I have nothing to lose.
