A member of the ‘Law & Order’ production crew was fatally shot at a film location in Brooklyn.
Early on Tuesday morning, a man who was enforcing parking restrictions related to the production was tragically murdered while sitting in his car at a Brooklyn film location for a ripped-from-the-headlines television crime show, authorities said.
Police reports and flyers in the area indicate that the murder took place on North Henry Street near Norman Avenue in Greenpoint just before a crew from the crime show “Law & Order: Organized Crime” was set to begin filming there.
What do we know about Johnny Pizarro, the victim?
Johnny Pizarro, 31, of Queens, New York, was the victim, according to the authorities. Police said Mr. Pizarro was seated in a car when a lone assailant arrived, opened the door, and shot him in the head and neck. Mr. Pizarro’s role was to clear the roadway so that vehicles associated with the performance could park. The police stated he was rushed to Woodhull Hospital Center in Brooklyn, but he was pronounced dead there.

Mr. Pizarro’s father, who also goes by the name Johnny, was reached at his house and expressed “horror” upon hearing the news of his son’s murder via his daughter. “No words,” Mr. Pizarro Sr. remarked when asked to describe his son’s visit two months ago when the men “tried to put our connection together.”
