Rev. T. Anthony Spearman, a civil rights activist has died. Per the Guilford Sheriffs Department, he has died recently.
“The Spearman Family is heartbroken by the passing of our patriarch, Reverend Dr. T. Anthony Spearman,” his relatives issued a statement saying. “He was a man of strong convictions who adored his family with all of his heart.” We ask for your prayers as we mourn this tremendous loss, and we appreciate your consideration and privacy during this difficult time.”
The prosecutor’s department stated that Spearman’s tragedy was under inquiry hence police are not in a position to reveal any information.
What has happened to him?
The death news is confirmed by his son stating that his father has left the world however the family is silent regarding the cause of his death.
He reportedly camped out at the statehouse in an effort to get leniency for a murder case that was dropped following judges reversed their verdicts.
Spearman was a humanitarian activist and veteran supporter of the prisoners. As per a document sent five months when he was dismissed from the NAACP by its leadership. The veteran activist was a former president.
He was formerly detained during a rally. “With the death of Rev. Dr. T. Anthony Spearman, North Carolina and the nation have lost an advocate for justice and a respected public servant,” Barber said in a statement. “My heart is shattered. I haven’t cried yet since tears don’t seem to be enough. I’ve remained silent and prayed for his family. In the conflict, I have lost a dear brother.”
Per the Barber, Spearman’s passing assumes that different causes have buried a “freedom fighter.” “He fought the good fight, and his path was completed.” “However, his legacy of service and works will live on,” Barber remarked. “We’re certain of it. ‘Amen,’ all individuals of conscience.”
Spearman was well-known for his support of the Gay and lesbian community and the right to vote, particularly his advocacy for statewide legislation allowing convicts and those on suspension to cast.
