Yves Coppens Death, Cause of Death, Obituary, Passed Away

Yves Coppens left all of us; yes, he was the one who discovered ” Lucy.”

This is so unfortunate that the famous astrologer who discovered ” Lucy ” died yesterday. Now you all will wonder what Lucy is, so she is one of the oldest human ancestors. He made this discovery in 1974 and is known as Paleontologist Yves Coppens. Died at the age of 87. 

He left this world and changed our understanding of human evolution. He was a French anthropologist, completed his graduation from the University of Rennes and Sorbonne, and he had produced one film also regarding his interest. 

He also got many awards such as Officer of the National Order of Chad, Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters of France, Commander of the Order of Cultural Merit of Monaco, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor, etc. He was also a professor in the prestigious research establishment of France known as College de France.

Coppens publisher Odile Jacob is heartbroken; he shared a post on Instagram about how he feels. In that post, he had written that Yves Coppens left all of this morning, and he is very sad. Further, he added that he lost his friend, who trusted him with everything personal or professional.

For all of us, approximately 20 years, “ Lucy” was the earliest known ancestor. By studying Lucy’s fossil, many experts get help in learning about our human ancestors in research. 

After finding Lucy, many Paleontologists said that they are 40 percent complete, dating back to 3.2 million years ago, and belong to female ancestors, so they named her ” Lucy. ” Coppens was born in 1934. At an early age, he wanted to become an archeologist.
