The Ultra beauty veteran Shelley Haus lost her life to cancer

Ultra Beauty took on its LinkedIn account to announce the heart-wrenching demise of the company’s Chief Marketing officer Shelley Haus. 

She had been working for the past seven years, and at the age of 49, she had to surrender to deadly cancer. Her death was caused by an unknown form of cancer from which she had suffered for quite a while.

What did the statement say?

The company’s grieving post depicted how important and unique she was to the company: “Those who knew her understood how special she was and the incredible impact she had on our industry, our brand, and most importantly, our teams.” 

The post followed “Shelley was a force whose passion and compassion matched equally. She was an innovative marketer, creative storyteller, and a people-first leader who saw beautiful possibilities in everything and everyone.”

Shelley Haus graduated from the University of Wisconsin in marketing in 1995. Haus, born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, grew up in the Chicago suburbs and worked for Ulta Cosmetics in Bolingbrook, Illinois. 

After serving as Ulta’s VP of brand marketing since 2017, Haus was promoted to CMO in December 2019. Haus outlined the cosmetics company’s growth strategy in March 2020 and how she crafted and shaped the brand’s identity both from within and with influencers.

She joined Ulta Beauty back in 2014 as vice president of brand marketing. She also played a chief leadership role at companies like Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, and The Kellogg Company. She also served on the board of directors for Youth Guidance, a program based in Chicago for those who have completed school.

Commenting on her career path, Haus stated in one of her interviews that “For me, success starts with assembling a world-class team who share a passion, drive, and will to win together. Together, we are building the Ulta Beauty brand through deep consumer and culture insights, strategic vision, differentiating innovation, and limitless creativity.”
