Why did Irish teen Eden commited suicide?
An eighteen years old teen named Eden Heaslip committed suicide just two weeks after his 18th birthday in September 2021. Eden lived in a small rural village of Crosskeys in County Cavan. Four months after he took his life, the teen’s parents and siblings have come forward to share the reason behind his suicide. It is reported that Eden took his life after enduring abusive bullying for years.
Latest revelations by Eden Committed’s family:
His parents, Maggie and Raymond, and his siblings Chloe and Finn spoke to a news outlet and revealed how devastated they are due to his loss. They described him as a Cheerful and moralistic child.
According to his father, the family first saw a change in him when he attended secondary school. He would go straight to his room after returning from school and didn’t seem happy with life.
Raymond belongs to the Church of Ireland, and Maggie is a catholic; they have a happy mixed marriage. Over the years, they have learned to respect each other’s beliefs and faiths.
But their son Eden faced extreme bullying for his surname Heaslip, a traditionally controversial surname in their area. Eden’s elder brother Finn tried to obstruct the bullying, but Eden asked him to stop saying that getting involved would make the situation worse and the bullies would find something else to tease him.
The horrible extent to which he was bullied:
When Eden Committed turned 17, he told his parents about the problem he faced at school. They arranged for a private counselor to talk to him.
Next summer, Eden revealed the extent to which he was bullied. He told his father that kids at school put his head inside a dirty toilet, which has happened multiple times.
Eden Committed also said that it was never just one person but an entire group of people who mocked him and made fun of him.
