Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price resigns

The CEO of Gravity Payments, Dan Price, resigned after accusations of misconduct and a misdemeanor charge that he assaulted a woman after a dinner meeting.

The founder of Gravity Payments, Dan Price, founded the company when he was only 19 years old in 2004. In his Twitter statement, he said that his presence had distracted his employees. “My No. 1 priority is for our employees to work for the best company in the world, but my presence has become a distraction here,”

Dan Price Personal Life:

Dan Price was born in Lansing, Michigan, on May 13, 1984. As an American citizen, he was born under the Taurus Zodiac sign. Dan Price is the son of Ron Price. The family moved to Nampa, Idaho, during his childhood.

After getting married in 2005, Dan Price and Kristie Colón divorced in 2012. Dan’s Christian parents forced him and his girlfriend to get married or end their relationship.

Dan Price Career Growth:

In 2004, Price started the company with his older brother’s money at Seattle Pacific University. Then, while playing in a rock band at a coffee shop, he got the payment system idea.

President Barack Obama invited Price to the White House in 2010 after he received the National SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. As a young entrepreneur, he won GeekWire’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013.

Business leaders were shocked when he disclosed he would cut his $1m salary to accommodate raises for all 120 employees, from sales to administration. 

Domestic abuse charges were filed against Dan Price by his partner.

Price attended an Irish pub in Seattle in 2013, sat at a table of strangers, and was asked to leave. Price punched the bar supervisor after he led him out. As a result, he was arrested and charged with a crime. Later, the costs were dismissed.

During a TEDx talk at the University of Kentucky in October 2015, Price’s ex-wife admitted that he had tossed, punched, slapped, body-slammed, and waterboarded her.

Price was charged with misdemeanor assault, jail assault with sexual motivation, and reckless driving in February 2022 after a 26-year-old woman accused him of violently kissing her.
